The Various Types Of GeneratorsGenerators are devices that have the basic function of converting energy from mechanical to electrical. They can be used to power any modern electrical device that we use in the event that there is a power outage. They are also used to generate electricity in areas where obtaining power is not an option (on the water while boating, etc). The various types of generators today are used in a variety of settings: home, recreational, and commercial. Some choices that are available are residential standby generators, natural gas, portable generators, electric and generators by Honda, wind and natural gas to name a few. Home generators are used at residences in the event of a power outage. The generator is able to supply an amount of emergency electricity to power appliances such as refrigerators, lights, etc. Using a generator in a situation such as this allows the homeowners to remain comfortable and safe until power can be restored. The various types of generators used in the home can be powered by natural gas, propane, diesel, and other forms of fuel. Home generators can be either standby or portable. Standby generators are intended for use for a longer amount of time, and a greater amount of electricity is able to be produced. A portable generator is able to be moved, and is intended for a short amount of use and a smaller amount of electricity. The various types of generators also include recreational generators. Recreational generators are intended for use in remote locations. They are perfect for using while camping, boating, etc. A recreational vehicle may have a generator built in to power lights, stoves, and any other conveniences desired while in areas without electricity. The key to using an electrical device running on a recreational generator is to use the device one at a time rather than plugging in several devices at once. Commercial generators are also included within the various types of generators. They are similar to home generators except on a much larger scale. Commercial generators are intended to power entire businesses, or portions of a business, in the event of a power loss. These generators are key so that important computerized information is not lost due to a power outage. They are also essential to power any electrically based security within a commercial building if there is no power.

I go camping a lot with my family and don't know what we would do without a portable generator to cook, just to have some light and power a small refrigerator. Our camping trips are more comfortable with it and is a great backup power source.
I recently bought a generator for my home as a back up power supply. I went through two weeks without power after a hurricane a few years ago and it was terrible. I remember those cold showers and unable to cook and keep food refrigerated. Never will I get caught like that again.
I was able tp keep my business going during an extended power outage last summer with a commercial standby generator. I bought it from Home Depot and haven't regretted it. All business owners whould consider this investment.
My family andd I go camping quite often and found life much easier with a portable generator to power a stove, lights and more. I know, that's not real camping in the true sense of the word, but I wouldn't go camping any other way.
After I lost my power for 2 weeks during hurricane Wilma, I knew I wasn't going to get caught like that again. I invested in a residential standby generator from Hondad and now prepared for the next power outage.
I am in the market for a generator and stumbled upon this site. Very informative. Great job!
